History

True Visions Cable Public Company Limited (TrueVisions Cable) (formerly UBC Cable Network Public Company Limited (UBC Cable) as UTV Cable Network Public Company Limited (UTV) was referred to before the 1998 merger) was established on October 2, 1992 to operate a Catv (cable television) service. TrueVisions Cable has a BTO concession from MCOT which will expire in December 2019. It provides its digital and analogue Catv service in Bangkok Metropolitan Areas through True Multimedia Company Limited (formerly Asia Multimedia Company Limited) hybrid fibre co-axial cable network which presently passes an estimated 800,000 homes.

TrueVisions group comprises 9 companies of which TrueVisions is the parent with 8 subsidiaries being: TrueVisions Cable, Satellite Service, Cineplex, Click TV, UBC Fantasia, Rainbow Media, IBC Symphony, and IBC Cambodia.

TrueVisions’ shares were delisted from the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) in 2006. After MIH, one of its major shareholders sold their shares (approximately 30.59%) to Telecom Holding Company Limited and True Multimedia Company Limited, subsidiaries of TRUE Corporation Public Company Limited ("TRUE") become the major shareholder with more than 98% shareholding in TrueVisions.
